What you'll need for Top:

1/4yd Purple Silk Fabric

2yd Purple Trim

1/4yd Batting
Velcro
Sewing Machine
Hand Needle
Purple Thread to match your trim
1yd 3/8" Lightweight clear Elastic

What you'll need for Flower:
1/8yd Shiny Purple Fabric
left over fabric from the purple silk
1/8 yellow Silk fabric
stuffing
copper wire



Lets Get Started First
 Make your Pattern.
I just measured my daughters chest (my daughter is 3T so she was 8 1/2" long and I wanted the high part 5"
and the middle is 2 1/2" long

 

Add 1/4" for sewing

 

Cut 2 Batting out

 

Lay them on top of each other like batting, batting, purple fabric facing up and purple fabric facing down. (wanting your purple fabric right sides together.) and Pin

Sew all the away around and leave 1 1/2" whole so you can turn it inside out.

 

turn it inside out and Pin your whole closed

 

 

sew your trim on by hand.

(4 pictures down shows the back I just sew 1/2" of trim to the back so your sides look good.)

 

 

Now start on the middle top and sew your trim all the way around

While doing the trim, sew up your whole while putting the trim on.

 

So it looks like this.

 

Here's the Back

now sew 1/2" of trim at the middle top on the back

and start wrapping around the middle I did mine 5 times.

Kind a pull it lightly so it gathers the middle

 

and sew it together on the back so it stays in place.

 

 

pin your Clear Elastic to your seashells

 

 

 and sew them on. I hand stitched the front ones and
used the sewing machine for the back ones

And your done with the top!

 

Flower:

Step One- make your pattern

I just made it like a burning flame leaving the bottom more square like.

 

 

Make 6 in each fabric. so you have 6 silk fabric and 6 shiny fabric

 

 

 

now cut our 2 wire pieces for each petal 

 

 

                             and sew them inside close to the edge.                     Cross the bottom

 

               and hand sew them all together 

now cut a circle and hand stitch all the way around and pull so it gathers.

 

Put a little stuffing in and pull so its closed

 

 place on top of the flower and hand sew it on

 

add a clip to the back

And you're All DONE!
